Palmiet Driftwood isa collection of driftwood gathered on the banks of the Palmiet river while on a camping trip. I carefully sorted and organised them before weaving them together with a narrow strip of fabric. I hand wove the strip in one long length of second hand linen and copper (to help give the weave structure to hold everything in place), almost like a ribbon. I love the idea of weaving a narrow piece of fabric and then re weaving it on a larger scale - a lovely mise en abîme.

The piece is designed to hang from two nails held directly under the top.
Care
Direct sunlight can cause fading, so please be mindful when hanging the piece in your home.
Lightly dust with a clean cloth, shake outside, and spot clean when necessary with a dab of soap and water.
