Wabi Sabi Log Cabin Cushion

A patchwork cushion made from natural earth toned linens. This cushion features a log cabin block, a traditional North American quilting pattern usually formed by sewing narrow strips of fabric around a central square. Here, all my pieces are slightly different widths to accommodate my scrap fabric - I think this gives it even more charm. All the fabric is second hand, leftover from garment production in Cape Town; including the lining fabric. The other side features a handwoven fabric made with with second-hand cotton as well as linen in a delicate gradient of orange stripes; handwoven on Norma, my floor loom.
